On a very warm and muggy evening surrounded by hungry horseflies Steep Ladies B played Newman Collard A at home.

1st pair Denise Hariton and Sharon Russ beat Newman Collard's 2nd pair 6-4 7-5 and halved with their 1st pair 6-7 6-1.

2nd pair Maria Nash and Jo Goodship (playing her first Ladies B match) beat NC's 1st pair 6-4 7-5 and halved with the 2nd pair 7-6 0-6.

A close and competitive match despite the overall score.
