Steep Ladies 'A' travelled to Haslemere with a mission.

The Ladies 'A' team needed to win 5 sets against Haslemere 'B' in order to clinch the East Hants Division 1 Summer League for the first time in 9 years. 

1st pair Cathy Robinson and Ann Saunders (who was part of the last Steep squad to win the Division from 1997-2000) beat Haslemere B's 2nd pair 7-5, 6-0 and Haslemere B's 1st pair 6-4, 6-1. Steep A's 2nd pair Penny Curran and Tanya Murray, playing together for the first time, beat Haslemere 1's, 6-3, 6-0 and 2's, 6-2, 6-1.

The team members were 'cock-a-hoop' as they have been knocking on the door for the last few years being 3rd and then 2nd last year.

Ladies Steep 'A' were represented by 9 players this season: Penny Curran (captain), Ann Saunders, Cathy Robinson, Karen Deane, Alison and Charlotte Beard, Tanya Murray, Judy Entress and Jane Martin.
