Rain does not stop play on Finals Day !

Players and supporters turned out for Finals Day despite less than favourable conditions. In the men's singles final club coach Dave Gaterell (a county player once ranked 80 in the UK) beat defending club champion Jonathan Graham 6-0, 6-0. In the ladies singles final defending champion Charlotte Beard beat Maria Nash 6-1, 6-0.

The Juniors played alongside the seniors where the matches were more evenly contested. Boy's under 16's singles: Freddie Green beat Will Coel 6-3, 6-3. Boy's under 14's singles: Robbie McCallum beat Ben Norman 6-4, 6-3. Girls under 16's singles: Josie Phillips beat Katie Strick 6-3, 6-4.

Men's doubles: Martin Sharp and Robin Shaw beat Peter Corbett and Duncan Read 7-5, 6-2. Ladies doubles: Alison Beard and Charlotte Beard beat Cathy Robinson and Ann Saunders 6-4, 6-1. Mixed doubles; Duncan Read and Ann Saunders beat Ben Russ and Cathy Robinson 6-3, 6-2.

Trophies were awarded by club chairman Tony Llewelyn. Special thanks to tournament organiser Ben Russ. Thanks also to Sharon Russ, Lesley Whyte and Margaret Watson who organized tea for everyone.
